After finding out her husband was having an affair with a model with a cat face, she became addicted to plastic surgery to get a cat face. When she divorced in 1999, she received $2.5 billion in alimony, and received $100 million a year until 2012, but she filed for bankruptcy six years later in 2018. Two years before she died, she didn’t have a single dollar in the bank. She was a natural beauty, but her face was ruined by plastic surgery addiction. And she was unbelievably wealthy person, but in the end, she became penniless. She didn’t appreciate what she had, so she couldn’t enjoy the blessings she had. Those who have accepted Christ as their Savior have an eternal identity as children of God. “To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the power to become children of God” (John 1:12). We can call God our Father (Rom. 8:15), and we have the privilege of being led by the Spirit of God (Rom. 8:14). Furthermore, as heirs of God (v. 17), we are blessed with eternal life, the privileges and protection of the kingdom of God, and the glory of God. A life empowered by the indwelling and guidance of the Holy Spirit is blessed with the ability to conquer and transform the world with the gospel. If you are not clear about who you are, you will wander through life’s crises and eventually lose everything. If you value your identity as a child of God above all else and live your life, your life will be a life of abundant blessings and God’s grace that people of the world cannot even imagine.
