메릴랜드 하노버에 소재한 워싱턴 하늘비전교회가  ‘처음 사랑, 처음 열정 회복하여 참 예배자로 세워지는 교회(히4:16)’란 표어로 감격의 첫 예배로 드린후 새로운 한 해를 맞으며 다시 달리기 시작합니다.

하늘비전교회는 워싱턴지역 한인교회협의회(The Council of Korean Churches in the Greater Washington)에 속한 교회로서 메릴랜드 동부와 서부를 잇는 중간지역에 위치해 지역사회 복음화를 위해 창립되어 건강하게 성장하는 교회입니다.  

교회는 예수님께서  부활하시면서 이 땅에 남기고 가신 주님의 꿈이요 희망입니다. 교회가 있으면 하나님의 은혜가 있고 기도와 찬양이 살아나고 성령의 일하심이 있습니다. 강단에서 흘러나오는 살찐 꼴과 생명수가 교회에 속한 가정과 자녀들을 변화시키고 지역사회 곳곳으로 흘러가며 도도한 물결처럼 기도와 찬송, 말씀의 능력이 세상을 덮을 것입니다.

담임목사로 사역을 섬기기 시작하면서 워싱턴 하늘비전교회가 시대와 역사속에서 꺼지지 않은 성령의 불꽃이 되어 하나님 나라의 아름다운 발자취가 되기를 소원하면서 4가지를 부탁드립니다.

첫째로, 우리의 머리와 가슴이 함께가는 신앙의 경주자가 되도록 노력해주시길 바랍니다. 지, 정, 의(Head, Heart, Hand) 즉 지적으로는 말씀 충만, 성령의 은사로 충만한 그리스도의 지체, 삶속에서 주님의 의를 실천하는 살아있는 신앙인이 되도록 말씀으로 자신을 조명하고 성령 안에서 우리 모두가 함께 빚어져 가도록 하나님의 은혜안에 거하도록 힘써야 할 것입니다.

둘째로, 목회자와 평신도가 함께 가는 목회가 되도록 협조해주시길 바랍니다. 목회자와 평신도가 하나님께서 주신 다른 기능과 소명에 따른 공동의 성직이라는 의식속에서 서로가 피차 존경하고 사랑하고 섬기는 방향으로 나아가도록 합시다.

셋째로, 성도와 성도가 함께 일하며(Work Together) 함께 걷는(Walk Together) 교회생활이 되어야 할 것입니다. 주님이 베푸시는 은혜와 사랑으로 서로를 가슴에 품고 함께 나아갈 때 우리들은 서로에게 진정한 동역자요 벗이 될 것입니다. 

넷째로, 하나님과 함께 가는 교회생활이 되어야 할 것입니다. 흔히 목회의 성공을 이야기 할 때 ABC 즉 ‘Attendance(교인수), Building(건물), Cash(예산)을 이야기합니다. 그러나 하나님나라의 거룩한 비전에 사로잡혀 하나님의 의와 진리를 붙드는 교회가 될 때 사람 숫자나 예산이나 건물에 관계없이 음부의 권세가 이기지 못하는 반석위에 세워진 교회가 될 것입니다.

바라기는 사도행전 9장 31절 말씀과 같이 말씀의 반석위에 굳건히 서서 가정과 교회가 평안가운데 든든히 서가며 주를 경외함과 성령의 위로로 날마다 구원받고 주님을 닮아가는 자의 수가 더해져가는 하나님의 꿈이 하늘비전교회를 통해서 성취되기를 간절히 소원합니다.

HVCC is a community of faith built with pure passion and love in the hope of dreaming, realizing, and sharing God’s dream together with people who live without any meaningful dream, as well as in the hope of becoming a path of blessings to local and global communities. HVCC, which is located in a beautiful environment near Harman Matthew Park, intends to create a community characterized by seven key themes: (1) worship, (2) training, (3) healing, (4) nurturing, (5) mission, (6) bride, and (7) vision. HVCC therefore seeks to offer dynamic and inspiring worship service, to embrace the first and second generations together, to exert holy leadership roles in the local community, to heal the wounds of immigrant families, and to build a community of pure brides in imitation of Jesus Christ.

HVCC, as a community of dream and vision, is writing a new history of “Acts 29” through the acts of love and sacrifice, healing and reconciliation, and inspiration and voluntariness. Especially through lavish investment and devotion to overseas missions and the 1.5 generation bridge ministry, HVCC is determined to fulfill the Great Commandment and the Great Commission that Jesus Christ entrusted us with. By living up to its motto, “a church that dreams, realizes, and shares God’s dream,” HVCC is in the process of being beautifully transformed and shaped into “the very church” that God searches for, a church that is exemplary, peaceful, and unshakable.

In conclusion, our stated purpose is to uplift hearts to God, transform lives and share God’ love with others. It is easy to become involved at Heavenly Vision Community Church. Join us as we seek to be the hands, feet, ears and eyes of Jesus in our families, our workplaces, our community.
