지난 한 해 안식년 기간동안 혹독한 고난의 광야를 통과하면서도 포기할 수 없었던 것은 복음에 대한 사명과 부르심이었습니다. 1년이 넘는 시간 동안 기도로 말씀으로 준비하며 “예수 그리스도께서 삶의 주인이 되시고 주님만을 자랑하는 공동체를 세워 나아가야겠다” 다짐과 결단을 하게 되었습니다. 

사랑하는 동역자 여러분, 하나님께서는 오늘도 주님께서 피로 값주고 사신 몸된 교회를 통해 세상을 변화시키시며 지역 교회 공동체를 통해 열방을 향한 큰 일을 이루시길 소원하십니다. 

Glocal Impact Ministry는 Global(세계)과 Local(지역) 의 합성어인 GLOCAL의 비전을 담아, 열방과 지역사회를 함께 품고 기도하며 섬기는 선교적 사역입니다. 특히, Glocal Impact Ministry는 미국의 심장부인 워싱턴 DC와 인천 국제도시 송도를 잇는 믿음의 다리가 되어, 지역을 섬기며 세계를 품는 사역을 감당하고자 합니다. 

바라기는 Glocal Impact Ministry를 통해 하나님께서 세우신 지역교회와 선교단체, 그리고 다음세대를 연결하며, 지역을 넘어 세계를 향한 복음의 통로가 되어 함께 기도하고, 함께 연결되고, 함께 세워져 하나님의 나라 확장에 쓰임 받기를 소망합니다.

아울러 우리 모두가 부름받은 소명자들로서 시대와 역사속에서 꺼지지 않은 성령의 불꽃이 되어 하나님 나라의 아름다운 발자취가 되기를 소원하면서 4가지를 부탁드립니다.

첫째로, 우리의 머리와 가슴이 함께가는 신앙의 경주자가 되도록 노력해주시길 바랍니다. 지, 정, 의(Head, Heart, Hand) 즉 지적으로는 말씀 충만, 성령의 은사로 충만한 그리스도의 지체, 삶속에서 주님의 의를 실천하는 살아있는 신앙인이 되도록 말씀으로 자신을 조명하고 성령 안에서 우리 모두가 함께 빚어져 가도록 하나님의 은혜안에 거하도록 힘써야 할 것입니다.

둘째로, 목회자와 평신도가 함께 가는 목회가 되도록 협조해주시길 바랍니다. 목회자와 평신도가 하나님께서 주신 다른 기능과 소명에 따른 공동의 성직이라는 의식속에서 서로가 피차 존경하고 사랑하고 섬기는 방향으로 나아가도록 합시다.

셋째로, 성도와 성도가 함께 일하며(Work Together)함께 걸어가야(Walk Together)할 것입니다. 주님이 베푸시는 은혜와 사랑으로 서로를 가슴에 품고 함께 나아갈 때 우리들은 서로에게 진정한 동역자요 벗이 될 것입니다. 

넷째로, 하나님과 함께 가는 삶이 되어야 할 것입니다. 흔히 사역의 성공을 이야기 할 때 ABC 즉 ‘Attendance(교인수), Building(건물), Cash(예산)을 이야기합니다. 그러나 하나님나라의 거룩한 비전에 사로잡혀 하나님의 의와 진리를 붙들리게 될 때 사람 숫자나 예산이나 건물에 관계없이 음부의 권세가 이기지 못하는 반석위에 세워지는 교회, 하나님의 기쁨이 되는 사역이 될 것입니다.

바라기는 사도행전 9장 31절 말씀과 같이 말씀의 반석위에 굳건히 서서 우리가 섬기는 가정과 교회, 지구촌 구석구석 사역의 현장이 평안가운데 든든히 서가며 주를 경외함과 성령의 위로로 날마다 구원받고 예수님을 닮아가는 자의 수가 더해져가는 하나님의 꿈이 성취되기를 간절히 소원합니다.

주안에서 축복하고 사랑합니다. 

Throughout the past year during my sabbatical period- even while traversing a harsh wilderness of suffering – what I could never bring myself to abandon was my mission and calling regarding the Gospel.

After more than a year spent preparing through prayer and the Word, I made a solemn pledge and resolution: to build a church where Jesus alone is the Master, and where He alone is our boast.

Dear Friends and Partners, GLOCAL Impact Ministry carries the vision of GLOCAL, a combination of Global and Local. It is a mission-centered ministry that embraces both the nations and local communities through prayer, service, and partnership.

We believe God works through local churches to impact the world, and through global vision to renew local communities and continues to transform the world through local churches and faithful communities. GLOCAL Impact Ministry seeks to become a bridge of faith connecting Washington, D.C. and Songdo Incheon, serving local communities while embracing the nations.

The Church is the Lord’s dream and hope—the legacy He left behind on this earth upon His resurrection. Where the Church exists, God’s grace abounds; prayer and praise come alive; and the Holy Spirit is actively at work. The rich pasture and living water flowing from the pulpit will transform the families and children belonging to this church; they will flow out into every corner of the community, and—like a mighty, surging tide—the power of prayer, praise, and the Word will sweep across the world.

Earnestly desiring that this precious church—purchased at the high cost of the Lord’s own blood—may become an unquenchable flame of the Holy Spirit throughout the ages and history, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of God’s Kingdom, I offer you four requests.

First, I ask that you strive to become runners in the race of faith whose heads and hearts move in perfect harmony. Let us pursue the integration of intellect, emotion, and will—the “Head, Heart, and Hands” of faith. This means becoming members of the Body of Christ who are intellectually filled with the Word and abounding in the gifts of the Holy Spirit; it means becoming living believers who actively practice the Lord’s righteousness in their daily lives. To this end, we must diligently strive to dwell within God’s grace—examining ourselves through the light of the Word and allowing the Holy Spirit to mold us all together into His likeness.

Second, I ask for your cooperation in fostering a ministry where the pastor and the laity walk side by side. Let us move forward in a spirit of mutual respect, love, and service—recognizing that both the pastor and the laity share in a common priesthood, each fulfilling distinct functions and callings bestowed upon them by God.

Third, our life within the church must be one where believers work together and walk together. As we embrace one another in our hearts—sustained by the grace and love the Lord bestows—and move forward together, we will truly become genuine partners in ministry and true friends to one another.

Fourthly, our life within the church must be a journey walked alongside God. When people speak of success in ministry, they often cite the “ABC”s: Attendance (congregation size), Building (facilities), and Cash (budget). However, when a church becomes one that is captivated by the holy vision of God’s Kingdom—holding fast to His righteousness and truth—it will stand as a church built upon the Rock, against which the gates of Hades cannot prevail, regardless of the number of people, the size of the budget, or the grandeur of the building.

It is my earnest prayer—in accordance with the words of Acts 9:31—that God’s dream may be fulfilled: that our families and church, standing firm upon the bedrock of His Word, may be established securely in peace; and that, walking in the fear of the Lord and the comfort of the Holy Spirit, the number of those being saved daily and growing to resemble the Lord may continually increase.
