God has never promised to keep us immune from trouble; He says “I will be with him in trouble,” which is a very different thing. Paul was “an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God,”
and it is this fact that accounts for the crushing criticism and the spiteful treatment to which he was subjected by those who could not discern on what authority he based his apostleship.
Paul was a Pharisee of the Pharisees,†† he stood in the fore rank of learning until Jesus appeared to him, staggered him, blinded him, extinguished all his personal aims, and sent him out to be an apostle to the Gentiles—“I have chosen him.If you are experiencing the disasters of fellowship, don’t get into despair. Calculate on the disaster of fellowship, because through it God is going to bring you into fellowship with His Son. This is also true of work for God—“except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die. . . .” By Oswald Chambers
… 살 소망까지 끊어지고,” [고린도후서 1:8하]
하나님께서는 우리에게 삶의 문제를 겪지 않게 하신다고 약속하신 적이 없습니다. 주님은 말씀하시길, “저희 환난 때에 내가 저와 함께 하여 저를 건지고 영화롭게 하리라”고 하셨습니다.
바울은 “하나님의 뜻에 의하여 예수 그리스도의 사도”가 되었습니다. 그러나 그를 기다리고 있는 것은 밀려오는 비난과 앙심을 품은 원수들이었습니다.
바울은 바리새인 중에 바리새인이었습니다. 그 당시 누구든지 굽실거리는 최고의 석학이었습니다.
그러나 예수님을 만난 이후 그는 조롱거리가 되었고 도망자의 신세가 되었으며 자신의 모든 개인적인 야망을 다 잃게 되었습니다.
그러한 바울을 주님께서는 이방인의 사도로 세우시고 이방 나라로 보내셨습니다. “내가 그를 택하였노라.”
만일 당신이 화목제물이 되기 위한 재난을 겪고 있다면 낙심하지 마십시오. 하나님께서는 언제나 그 재난을 통하여 당신으로 하여금 그분의 아들과 더욱 화목할 수 있도록 인도하시기 때문입니다.
하나님을 위한 사역을 할 때 이 진리를 절대로 잊지 마십시오.
“한 알의 밀이 땅에 떨어져 죽지 아니하면 한 알 그대로 있고 죽으면 많은 열매를 맺느니라” (요 12:24).
