왜 이 코로나 광야가 끝날 듯 끝날 듯 하면서 끝나지 않는 것일까요? 왜 자꾸 곧 코로나광야를 빠져나와 가나안으로 들어갈 것처럼 보이다가 다시 광야로 되돌아가는 것일까요? 아직도 우리는 이스라엘 백성들처럼 가나안에 들어갈 준비가 되어 있지 않은 것은 아닐까요?
스바냐 3장에서 하나님께서는 남유다에 여호와의 날을 작정하셨습니다. 이것은 그들을멸망시키고자 하심이 아니라, 그들을 변화시키고자 하심이었습니다.
하나님은 환난의 날을 통하여 수없이 하나님을 떠나 불신앙의 말을 주저없이 말하던 그들의 입술을 깨끗하게 하셔서 주님의 이름을 부르며 섬기게 하고자 하셨습니다.
이사야 선지자도 입술의 깨끗함을 경험하였습니다. 하나님은 그의 입을 정결케 해 주셨습니다(사 6:6-7). 그리고 하나님의 말씀을 전하는 선지자로 세워 주셨습니다. 환난의 날 전에는 하나님의 진노를 가져오는 존재였지만, 환난 이후에 사람들은 하나님이 사랑하시고기뻐하시는 존재로 변화된 것입니다(3:17).
사람이 환난을 당할 때도 소망이 있는 것은 하나님은 우리를 죄로부터 정결하게 하시고, 하나님을 예배하며 섬길 수 있는 존재로 만드시기 때문입니다.
📖 그러나 내가 가는 길을 그가 아시나니 그가 나를 단련하신 후에는 내가 순금 같이 되어나오리라(욥 23:10)

God has not appointed the Day of the Lord in Judah to destroy them, but to change them.
Through the day of adversity, God cleanses the lips of many peoples so that they all call on the name of the Lord, serve God, and bring gifts to God. Before the day of Jehovah’s wrath, the lips of the people of Judah were unclean.
They were people who called the names of idols instead of God, and they spoke lies. However, God intends to cleanse their lips through the day of tribulation so that they can call on the name of the Lord to serve Him.
The prophet Isaiah also experienced the cleansing of his lips. When he saw God and despaired that his lips were unclean, God put charcoal from the altar on his lips to purify his mouth. (Isaiah 6:6-7) And he established him as a prophet who preaches the word of God.
Before the day of tribulation, they were beings who brought God’s wrath, but after the tribulation, they are transformed into beings that God loves and pleases. (3:17) Even when we face tribulation, there is hope because God purifies us from sin and makes us into beings that can worship and serve God.
📖 But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. (Job 23:10)
