📖English QT(2 Kings 20)
There is nothing more dramatic than recovering from a deadly disease. King Hezekiah fell ill at the young age of 39, and the prophet Isaiah declares it a mortal disease. So Hezekiah prays earnestly to God. He weeps and prays, asking God to remember the good he has done with all his heart. God declared death to him, but He sees tears in his prayers, and prolongs his life for another 15 years.
But when God healed Hezekiah from a mortal illness, he set a time period of 15 years. Hezekiah’s extension of life is intertwined with that of Judah. Judah did not perish during Hezekiah, but it will be destroyed by their sins at God’s appointed time. When Hezekiah prays to God for life, he asks to remember the good things he has done. But what God saw was his prayers and tears. And when God extended his life, He would have wanted Hezekiah to do the good he had done for the remainder of his life.
We may be all living in the time of miracles. We think it is a miracle that Hezekiah lived an extended life of 15 years, but God is working a miracle by extending our lives day by day. We must strive to be remembered as good in the sight of God in this miraculous time. (2 kings 20:3)
