‘Share the salvation of God’

Charles Spurgeon expounded figuratively, “Evangelism is just one beggar tell- ing another beggar where to find bread.” Even though God gave us the bread, if there was no messenger to deliver the message about the bread, the bread given by God would be non-existent to others. The city of Samaria was be- sieged by the Aramean army and suffered severe famine. Some even ended up eating their own child.

At that moment, God brought salvation to the people of Israel. The LORD caused the Aramean army to hear the sound of chari- ots and horses and a great army. The Aramean army was so afraid that they abandoned everything and fled in a hurry. God had already redeemed Israel from the Aramean army. But not knowing it, Israel was still dying in the city. Even though the salvation of God was at the door, if people do not know that, they cannot experience the salvation. But then God moved the minds of those men with leprosy who were just outside of the city gate.

They thought it better to beg for food to the Aramean army than die of hunger sitting where they were and made a move to go to the camp of Aramean army There they saw the salvation of God. The men with leprosy took the food and other things abandoned by the Aramean army but felt guilty and thought that the punishment would overtake them if they waited until daylight to report what they had found at the camp. So they rushed back to Samaria that night to report the news of salvation, and the people of Samaria celebrated their salvation.

The men with leprosy understood that God had directed their minds toward the Aramean army not only to enrich their own needs but also to share the salvation of God with others. My own richness is not only my blessing for me to enjoy but also to share the salvation and prosperity with others. God wants us to live like the men with leprosy who shared the salvation of God and prosperity with others.

🎶 God never let me down(Oh faithful Lord)
