📖 왕하 2 Kings 2:19-22
(물 근원을 지켜야 합니다)
엘리사가 여리고성에 머물때 일입니다. 그 성읍 사람들이 찾아와 성읍의 위치는 좋으나 물이 좋지않아 토산이 익지 못하고 떨어진다고 하소연합니다.
토산이 익지 못하고 떨어진다는 것은 아이를 임신하여도 유산을 하는 것으로 해석하기도 합니다. 그곳은 물근원이 좋지 않았고 아주 심각한 문제였습니다. 물근원이 흐르면 아이가 자라지 못하고동식물이 자라지 못합니다.
엘리사는 ‘새 그릇’에 ‘소금’을 담아 물 근원으로 가서 던지며 하나님께서 그 물을 고쳤다고 선포합니다.
“그 물이 엘리사가 한 말과 같이 고쳐져서 오늘에 이르렀더라(왕하 2:22)”
물 근원이 고쳐지니 생명의 일들이 다시 시작되었습니다. 당시는 바알 우상숭배로 인해 백성들의영이 매우 흐려 있던 상황이었습니다. 그들은 하나님과 함께 바알을 겸하여 섬김으로 영적인 물 근원이 흐려져 있었습니다.
마음 물 근원에 영혼을 부패하지 않게 하는 소금언약 말씀을 뿌려 “하나님께 돌아오게 하라”는 메시지입니다. 말씀과 성령의 소금으로 우리의 마음 물 근원도 고치시고 오염되지 않도록 지켜 주시기를 그결과 생명의 열매들이 더욱 풍성케 되기를 축복하고 기도합니다.

엘리사가 물 근원으로 나아가서 소금을 그 가운데에 던지며 이르되 여호와의 말씀이 내가 이 물을고쳤으니 이로부터 다시는 죽음이나 열매 맺지 못함이 없을지니라 하셨느니라 하니 그 물이 엘리사가 한 말과 같이 고쳐져서 오늘에 이르렀더라(왕하 2:21-22)

Preserve the water source
Elisha once stayed in Jericho. People from that town came to complain that even though the town was well situated, the water was bad and the land was unproductive. “The unproductive land” is also interpreted as having a lot of miscarriages because the water was not good for pregnant women. The water source was bad and it was a very serious problem. Geomryongso in Taebaek is the source of the Han River. So, if Geomryongso is contaminated, the Han River will be contaminated. If the water source is toxic, chil- dren cannot grow, animals cannot grow, and plants cannot grow. Elisha put “salt” in a “new bowl” and threw it in the water source, proclaiming that God healed the water.
And the water has remained wholesome to this day, according to the word Elisha had spoken.(2 kings 2:22)
As the water source was healed, living things came alive again. At that time, the soul of the people was very blurred due to the worship of Baal. Their spiritual water source was tainted by serving both Baal and God. So, everywhere spiritual vitality stopped and rotted, smelled, and the fruits of death were borne. This story can be viewed simply as one of the anecdotes of Elisha’s spiritual succession of authority, but I think there is a message that asks the people to return to God by sprinkling salt that preserves the soul at the root of the water.
I pray that the salt of the Word of God and Holy Spirit will heal the water source of our hearts keeping our hearts from being pol- luted, so that the fruits of liveliness will become more abundant.
📖 Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the LORD says: `I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.”
