From Wadi Sdeir
This fragment is in excellent condition. The sofer has very precise penmanship. This scroll is more like modern Torah scrolls than many of the older scrolls discovered in the Judean Desert. Not all of the scrolls were found at Qumran. This fragment is from a scroll found at Wadi Sdeir. This fragment consists of two columns. The right column is Genesis 35:6-9 and the left column is Genesis 36:5-12.
“And Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan that is Beth el, he and all the people that were with him. He built there an altar, and he called the place El Beth el, for there Elohim had appeared to him, when he fled from the face of his brother.” Genesis 35:6-7
On the right column we can see a minor break/space in the text which ends verse 8 and begins verse 9.
