According to Isaiah 7:14, God said to us through Isaiah,
“behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth a son, and will call him Immanuel.)”
According to today New Testament Luke 2:10, An angel of the Lord appeared to Shepherds, And said to them
“Don’t be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people.
Why was Jesus born on earth? Indeed, The birth of Jesus Christ is the completion of the revelation of God from generation to generation. According to Genesis 3:15, Jesus came as an offspring of a woman.
Why is it good news of great joy? We can find the meaning in the name of Immanuel. Immanuel means ‘God with us’ (Im means with manu means us, and el means God) according to Matthew 1: 23. Human beings who became the enemies of God through committing sin were alienated from God, as a result. But they return and recover to be with God through the saving work of Jesus Christ.
According to Old testament Isaiah 9:7, Jesus who was born on this day called wonderful counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
When Jesus Christ is with us, all problem can be solved because He is the Mighty God the Lord ‘kurios’ .
When Jesus Christ becomes Immanuel among us, injustice and impurity can be dispelled, because He alone is king of Justice. When you have sin against God, He is savior Christ ‘messiah(righteous). Whenever you call his name Jesus Christ, your sin clean. His name is precious.
When He becomes Immanuel among us, darkness can be withdrawn because He alone is eternal light ‘everlasting Father. When He becomes immanuel among us, peace is realized because He is peace itself as prince of peace. When He becomes Immanuel among us, anxiety and worries disappears because He is wonderful counselor.
None in this world can go your way with you eternally. Even parents, brother, sister, friends, son and daughter, wife and husband cannot go with you eternally.. But Jesus Christ who is Immanuel of God, savior Christ, the Lord always be sure to be with you if you accept Him as you saviour Jesus Christ.
