A few years ago, I was struggling with several problems. I didn’t know what to do and had no one to talk with. I decided to seek a quiet place so I could take all my concerns to God. I chose a quiet room on the second floor of my home. There I sat down and began to pray. I talked with God about all that had happened and asked for wisdom and guidance. My heart had been filled with fear and worry, but in that room I felt calm as God’s presence filled my heart. I knew that my Lord would never leave me alone.
That room is still my quiet place. There I pray, read the Bible, and sometimes sing aloud to God. Although my quiet room is special to me, being in God’s presence is more than special to me. God is truly my hiding place. And in every situation or circumstance I face, whether happy or sad, I can find refuge in the presence of God.
🙏TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear God, whatever happens in our lives, you are our hope and our strength. We do not need to be afraid, for in you we can find rest for our souls. We pray as Jesus taught us, saying, “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil” (Luke 11:2-4, KJV). Amen.
