Day 35 in Lent (Monday in HOLY WEEK): The Little Way
“You have the poor with you always, you will not always have me.” – John 12:8
The way of Jesus is the way of choosing what is small, hidden, and vulnerable, trusting that God meets us there.
This path resists success, recognition, and self-made heroism, leading instead through ever-deeper forms of poverty until only radical trust in God’s mercy remains.
It is a way that cannot be walked alone. Only in union with Jesus—through prayer—do we find the strength to walk this road.
Prayer and action belong together: prayer without service becomes empty, and action without prayer becomes distorted. When prayer unites us with Christ, it leads naturally to acts of compassion; when we serve those who suffer, we encounter Christ himself.
Thus, worship becomes ministry and ministry becomes worship, as God’s compassion is revealed through lives lived with and for others.
Our Prayer:
Rise Yahweh! God, raise your hand, do not forget the afflicted! You have seen for yourself the trouble and vexation, you watch so as to take it in hand. Yahweh, you listen to the laments of the poor. You give them courage, you grant them a hearing. – Ps. 10: 12, 14, 17
