May the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely . . . [1 THESSALONIANS 5:23]
We take the word sanctification much too lightly. Sanctification means to be intensely focused on God’s point of view. It means to secure and to keep all the strength of our body, soul, and spirit for God’s purpose alone. The reason some of us have not entered into the experience of sanctification is that we have not realized the meaning of sanctification from God’s perspective. Sanctification means being made one with Jesus so that the nature that controlled Him will control us. The resounding evidence of the Holy Spirit in a person’s life is the unmistakable family likeness to Jesus Christ, and the freedom from everything which is not like Him. 우리는 성화(거룩하게 하는)라는 용어를 너무 가볍게 생각합니다. 성화란 하나님의 관점에 온전히 집중하는 것을 의미합니다. 이는 우리의 영.혼.육의 모든 힘을 다해 오직 하나님의 목적만을 위하여 사용되는 것을 의미합니다. 여러 사람들이 거룩의 체험에 들어가지 못하는 이유는 하나님의 관점에서의 거룩을 깨닫지 못하였기 때문입니다.거룩이란 예수 그리스도와 하나가 됨으로 예수님을 다스렸던 성향이 우리를 다스리게 하는 것입니다. 성령의 역사에 있어서 가장 뚜렷하고 유일한 특징은 우리를 예수 그리스도를 닮게 만들면서 예수님과 관계없는 모든 것으로부터 자유하게 하신다는 점입니다.성령께서 우리 안에서 역사하시도록 내 자신을 따로 구별할 준비가 되어 있습니까? 챔버스 묵상 중에서.
