영광 받고 싶은 욕망으로부터 From the desire of being honored,

칭찬 받고 싶은 욕망으로부터 From the desire of being praised,

다른 사람보다 인기 있는 사람이 되고 싶은 욕망으로부터 From the desire of being preferred to others,

사람들이 조언을 구하기 위해 나에게 찾아오기를 바라는 욕망으로부터 From the desire of being consulted,

세상 사람들의 눈에 나는 작아지고 다른 사람들은 커지기를 바라는 마음, That, in the opinion of the world, others may increase and I may decrease,

나는 배제되고 다른 사람들이 선택되기를 바라는 마음, That others may be chosen and I set aside,
예수여, 그 마음을 선물로 제게 주소서. Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
나는 드러나지 않고 다른 사람들이 칭찬 받기를 바라는 마음, That others may be praised and I unnoticed,
예수여, 그 마음을 선물로 제게 주소서. Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
모든 점에서 나보다 다른 사람들이 선호 되기를 바라는 마음, That others may be preferred to me in everything,
예수여, 그 마음을 선물로 제게 주소서. Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
내가 마땅한 정도로 거룩해 졌다 해도 다른 사람들이 나보다 더 거룩해지기를 바라는 마음, That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should,
예수여, 그 마음을 선물로 제게 주소서. Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
