Tel Aviv-Yafo (Hebrew: תֵּל־אָבִיב–יָפוֹ), often referred to as just Tel Aviv, is the city with the largest population in the Gush Dan metropolitan area of Israel. Located on the Israeli Mediterranean coastline, it is the economic and technological center of the country.
Jaffa, now a part of Tel Aviv, is actually an ancient city, which is even mentioned in Egyptian documents, as well as the Hebrew Bible.
