Wrestling with waiting in prayer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" 15941\" src=\"http:\/\/mdkumc.org\/ministry\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/20376744-7C33-4048-A466-D4ED839DAEE3.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"615\" data-id=\"15941\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s Scripture &amp; Insight:<\/p>\n<p>Habakkuk 2:1\u20133<\/p>\n<p>The prophet Habakkuk wrestled with waiting in prayer. Frustrated at God\u2019s silence with Babylon\u2019s brutal mistreatment of the Southern Kingdom of Judah, Habakkuk commits to \u201cstand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts,\u201d to \u201clook to see what he will say to me\u201d (Habakkuk 2:1). God replies that Habakkuk is to wait for the \u201cappointed time\u201d (v. 3) and directs Habakkuk to \u201cwrite down the revelation\u201d so the word can be spread as soon as it\u2019s given (v. 2).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cthe LORD replied: &#8220;Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.(Habakkuk 2:2)\u201c<\/p>\n<p>What God doesn\u2019t mention is that the \u201cappointed time\u201d when Babylon falls is six decades away, creating a long gap between promise and fulfillment. Like eggs, prayers often don\u2019t hatch immediately but rather incubate in God\u2019s overarching purposes for our world and our lives.<\/p>\n<p>By: Elisa Morgan<\/p>\n<p>Reflect &amp; Pray<br \/>\nHow difficult do you find it to wait while God works?
