The hand of the Lord came upon me, and he brought me out by the spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me all round them; there were very many lying in the valley, and they were very dry. He said to me, \u2018Mortal, can these bones live?\u2019 I answered, \u2018O Lord God, you know.\u2019 Then he said to me, \u2018Prophesy to these bones, and say to them: O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. I will lay sinews on you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the Lord.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

Background:<\/h3>\n

Ezekiel\u2019s vision is one of restoration. The dry bones represent an existence without hope or a future. God\u2019s desire is for the dry bones to come back to life. But it\u2019s not enough for the physical body to be put back together with muscles, organs, and skin. The body is not truly alive until it\u2019s filled with the breath of life.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
